B-Tech’s 10th Annual Invitational Golf Day saw us return to the prestigious Frilford Heath Golf Club in Oxford, where we welcomed customers, partners and friends from across the AV industry for a memorable day of golf, networking and fundraising.

Set within 500 acres of beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, the venue once again provided the perfect setting for one of B-Tech’s most anticipated events of the year.

This year’s event was particularly special, marking our largest customer gathering to date. It provided a fantastic opportunity to thank those who have supported B-Tech throughout the year, celebrate the strong relationships we have built and spend quality time together in a relaxed and friendly environment.

With glorious sunshine throughout the day, guests arrived for morning refreshments and a full event briefing before an 11:30 am shotgun start for 18 holes of golf. Players enjoyed excellent food and refreshments, great company and a range of on-course entertainment, including the launch of our new charity challenge, “Longest Drive with a Relic”.

The light-hearted challenge proved a huge success and, together with donations and other charity activities throughout the day, helped raise more than £4,000 for the Sickle Cell Society, supporting the charity’s vital work.

After a memorable day on the course, attendees gathered in the clubhouse for a well-earned buffet, drinks and an awards presentation celebrating the day’s standout performances.

Event organiser Matt Nixon reflected on the day:

“Another brilliant B-Tech Invitational Golf Day! With a whopping 21 teams attending, our golf day has really evolved into a key date in the industry calendar. We love hosting this event every year as a way of thanking our loyal customers, partners and friends.

The golf day was once again held in memory of our former colleague and dear friend Norman Case — and always will be — with players competing for the Norman Case Memorial Trophy.

We raised more than £4,000 through attendee donations and charity games out on the course. The Longest Drive with a Relic challenge, using some very old wooden drivers, proved particularly popular and brought some extra fun to the day. All money raised will go to the Sickle Cell Society, the charity chosen by Norman’s family. As always, I’ve been truly humbled by the support for Norman’s day and everyone’s commitment to keeping his memory alive.

This year marked our 10th golf day and, once again, the weather was perfect, the golfing standard was high — in places! — and Frilford Heath provided us with an excellent course and a fantastic BBQ buffet.

It’s incredible to look back at our first golf day in 2014, when just 36 players attended, and see how far the event has come. Its growth is a real reflection of how much B-Tech has developed alongside the industry. Being able to put on a day like this for our partners and show our appreciation is exactly what we should be doing, as their continued support is a key reason for our sustained growth.”

There is still time to support the Sickle Cell Society if you were unable to attend the event or would simply like to contribute. Our fundraising page will remain open for the next couple of weeks, and every donation will help support the charity’s important work.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported the fundraiser and helped make our 10th Annual Invitational Golf Day such a success. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next year.
