It was trolleys of a different kind for leading audio video mount manufacturer B-Tech as they hosted their inaugural Golf Invitational day at Staverton Park, Daventry.

The Northamptonshire course saw beautiful weatherfor most of the day, until late afternoon when the heavens decided to open and gave everyone a good chance to test out their B-Tech golf umbrellas.

A total of 43 attendees from the channel enjoyed the event, including retailers, distributors, manufacturers and integrators.Winner of the day’s longest drive competition went to Tom Wykes from PCS Systems, who also took top honours in the individual competition. Distances were not measured in yardsbut, in the words of B-Tech marketing manager Nick Spencer, Tom’s drive “was a monster.”

Datapath’s Greg Babbs claimed the nearest the pin accolade with the winning foursome prize going to Kevin Batley and John Ginty from Sahara PLC and Dave Harris and Damian Sharp from Proactive Learning.

The individual runner-up prize went to Dave Harris from ProactiveLearning , with Dave Smith from Sonitech claiming third.

All prize winners received M&S vouchers and a bottle of either wine or spirits.

B-Tech ASM and event organiser Matt Nixon added: “We are delighted to have put on this day for our partners, and our thanks go out to all attendees, along with Staverton Park GC, in making it a special day. It’s been a lot of fun and our thoughts are already turning to how we can make it even bigger and better next year.”

In the clubhouse, B-Tech also included a sneak preview display of their new System X range, which is due to launch in the next few weeks. B-Tech International’s range of video and audio mounting solutions can be next seen at the Midwich Technology Exposed event, being staged at Mercedes Benz World, on September 16th and 17th, Stand 52.
