A product designed by Daventry-based B-Tech has been shortlisted for an award at the audio-visual industry “Oscars”.

Its video wall mount – the BT8310 – is a finalist in the 2014 InAVation Awards in the Most Innovative Mounting Solution category.

The product allows video walls to be built on a modular principle in both landscape and portrait formats, and is up against competition from around the world.

It also has a clever pop-in, pop-out system that means each screen can be pushed so it pops out, giving access to its rear for adjustment or maintenance.

This saves lots of time and means adjustments can be done by just one person, rather than the traditional two. So it saves money as well.

Matt Bennett, Managing Director of B-Tech, said: “Our BT8310 has been a real success and we’re delighted it’s been shortlisted in the InAVation Awards, which everyone in the industry respects.

“It is just one of hundreds of products we supply to the AV industry around the world and we are gaining a reputation for our innovations.

“The mount supports screens and you might have seen them in airports or large sporting venues. And judging by their popularity you will see a lot more of them.”

The winner will be revealed at the ISE trade show in Amsterdam in February.

B-Tech has recently opened a subsidiary in Spain, to add to its European outlets in Belgium and Germany.

It also has a presence in Hong Kong, Singapore, Mainland China and North America.
